In order to make our Christmas worship gathering as available as possible, we are moving it from Christmas Eve to Christmas Eve-Eve. Come celebrate with us!

Fantasy Football Get Together

Our LWC 2009 Men's Fantasy Football League got together Sunday afternoon to watch a game and cheer on our players. We also engaged in a little bit of trash talk, and a few guys tried to entice some of the others into trading away their best players. We had a great time and enjoyed some delicious pizza! Thanks to Phil and Kathy for hosting our get together!

HOUSE CHURCH - Kicking Off Soon!!

Our Sunday night House Church times will be kicking off again before we know it. We meet for House Church on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month. It serves as one of the most important opportunities we have as a church family to do life together. We eat, share, pray, sing, and hang out at different homes each month. Starts up on September 13th at 6 pm. Details regarding the location for our September House Church gatherings will be posted soon.

Food Pantry Night

The LWC Food Pantry is open every third Wednesday from 6:30-8 pm for those who are in need of food. A warm meal will be available while food pantry bags are being distributed.

Church Work Nights

The LWC Trustees have scheduled two church work nights to take care of a few projects around the facility. Join us for two Wednesdays, August 26th and September 2nd, from 6-8 pm. Projects will include some outside cleanup, landscaping, and a variety of small projects inside the building as well.

Lasso Your Love - District Marriage Retreat

Are you ready to lasso your marriage - The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly? Whether you are a Young Gun or have been married for years, a City Slicker or from The Big Country, God can challenge you to strengthen your relationship!

Are you willing to hit the Open Range of your marriage and keep your relationship from heading for a Tombstone? We hope you are looking forward to worshiping together, sessions that will challenge you to dig deeper with God, and a time to focus on your spouse and yourself. 

Many activities are being planned for this retreat. So Circle Your Wagons, jump on the 3:10 to Yuma, (or just drive your car to Fairmount) and join us for a marriage Bonanza of refreshment and fun.

Food Pantry - May 20th

The LWC Food Pantry served 12 families (46 people) on Wednesday, May 20th. Beginning June 17th, soup and sandwiches will also be served to those in need. The food pantry is in need of paper product donations and also could use an extra hand. If you have time to volunteer a few hours every third Wednesday evening (6:30-8:00 pm), please see Dawn Brendel or Rose Orr.

Best Years Fellowship Luncheon

The Best Years Fellowship luncheon will be held at noon on June 11th at LWC. This carry-in luncheon is open to men and women who are 55 years old or older. 

Membership Classes at LWC

We take church membership seriously here at LWC. For us, it is much more than just belonging to a club or having your name on a membership roster. It is about taking ownership for the direction and efforts of our church, as we seek to be and to do all that God desires. It involves committing with others to pursue the mission God has given to us, to be accountable in community with others, and to engage in the life of LWC by playing your part in all that we do as a church family.

With this as our goal, we host a series of membership classes each spring that we ask both our current and potential members to participate in. As part of these classes, we discuss the history and values of our denomination, as well as the values, mission, motto, and vision for our church. In addition to this, we also talk about what it means to be a member here at LWC.

The LWC 2009 Membership Classes are scheduled for April 26th, May 3rd, and May 17th. We will be meeting during the Discussion Group/Sunday School time following our Sunday morning worship gathering. If you are currently a member of LWC, or you are interested in becoming a member, please plan on attending. For potential new members, please contact Pastor Tyler to let him know of your interest as well.  

Best Years Fellowship (BYF)

There will be a Best Years Fellowship carry-in luncheon for those who are 55 years old and older this coming Thursday, April 16th. We will meet here at the church at noon. Please bring a dish to share and join us for a great time together. If you have any questions, please contact Tina Wilson.

Men's Night at BWW's

Since the ladies of LWC are heading out of town for the 2009 Ladies Retreat this Friday, all of the men of LWC are invited to a Men's Night at Buffalo Wild Wing's on Dupont Road in Fort Wayne. We will be meeting at the church at 6 pm to head to BWW's. If you would like to come but would prefer to meet us down there, we will be meeting there at 6:30 pm. Hope to see you there!

Good Friday Service

Join us for a special Good Friday Service this Friday, April 10th, at 7 pm here at LWC. We will gather together to reflect on the sacrifice Jesus made, dying on the cross in our place.

LWC Ladies Retreat

LWC Ladies Retreat - This year's retreat will be on April 17th and 18th and will be held again at the Amigo Centre. If you would like to attend, registration should be turned in before March 29th. The cost is $40 per person, which includes Friday night dinner, Saturday breakfast and lunch, overnight lodging and worship leader/speaker Katie Nelson. Space is limited to 30 women (college age and older).
